Dennie Gordon

Dennie Gordon has been a trailblazing director, spanning the worlds of feature films, television series, mini-series, and branded content. While directing all five episodes of Last Light for Peacock, the story of a family struggling through a terminal oil crisis that eerily  mirrored the real world of the early ’20s, she said in an interview, “We can do something . . . That was our goal for the show, to provoke this conversation about what we can do or should do, and how quickly we must do it.” After being one of the first women to graduate from Yale’s School of Drama with an MFA in Directing, Gordon first gained recognition with her award-winning short, A Hard Rain, which was chosen by Showtime’s Discovery Program and went on to garner the attention of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, who donated the film’s mix at Skywalker Ranch. Since then, she has directed over 100 hours of network and streaming television, with credits ranging from multiple episodes of Ally McBeal,Party of Five, and The Office to David E. Kelley’s Goliath, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, and For All Mankind on Apple TV+. Most recently, Dennie has directed episodes of From Scratch, which dominated the charts of Netflix for weeks, as well as the highly anticipated Season 2 of Halo for Paramount+. Her feature films include Joe Dirt, starring David Spade and Christopher Walken, and What a Girl Wants, starring Oscar-winner Colin Firth, Dame Eileen Atkins, and Jonathan Pryce. Gordon is a sought-after commercial director,  ready for more. She has directed spots for Honda, Toyota, Tsingtao beer, and Xcel Energy and worked with the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Betty White, Adam Devine, and Don Cheadle. Her recent work with Chromista for Montefiore Medical Center takes the form of a mini-documentary that follows the astounding story of Barbara Higgins, a survivor of three brain tumors who worked with Montefiore to successfully give birth at age 57.
